The HEIRLOOM COLLARD PROJECT

The Heirloom Collard Project is a collaboration between Southern Exposure Seed Exchange, Seed Savers Exchange, Working Food, and the Utopian Seed Project. This project aims to build a coalition of seed stewards, gardeners, farmers, chefs, and seed companies working to preserve heirloom collard varieties and their culinary heritage.

UCFA is collecting 'Collard Stories' as part of our work with The Heirloom Collard Project.  Check out some heart warming stories about collards. Consider sharing your collard story with us.

Listen as Ira Wallace (Southern Exposure Seed Exchange) and Chris Smith (Utopian Seed Project) discuss  January collards, eating and growing collards, some ideas around plant selection, and what to expect as spring spurs new growth for your surviving collards. Visit http://utopianseed.org/utopianultracross. Join the Community Seed Selection Facebook Group.

CLEANING COLLARDS SEEDS

Chris Smith of the Utopian Seed Project and the Heirloom Collard Project demonstrates a relatively low tech process of cleaning collard seeds.
